Devotional, God is my Healer, God Is...

By His Wounds (“God is My Healer” Devotional)

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

1 Peter 2:24

God is my healer!

It should have been me. Yet, He took my place.

I was dead in trespasses. Yet, He made me alive.

I was broken. Yet, He made me whole.

Have you ever thought about salvation wasn’t a miracle? I mean God didn’t just announce we are saved or healed and then everything is automatically done. He had to lay out the redemption plan throughout history and send His Son to accomplish it at last. It wasn’t a miracle but the hard work of God who loves us and so wants to restore us. Nothing cuts closer than a wound and by His wounds, we are healed.

As one Chinese song says

“When every cell of yours is suffering (Jesus on the cross), every cell is saying You love me”

Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases…

Psalm 103:3

Have you ever thought about God’s healing isn’t a cheap Chinatown mechanic repair job? God didn’t just put a Band-Aid on us, He heals ALL our diseases. He made us whole. He made us new. He changed us completely. He regenerated us. And only because of the regeneration, do we have peace with God, we became children of God, we receive the Holy Spirit, we enjoy His presence, and we inherit God’s inheritance…

Prayer:

Dear Lord, by Your wounds, we are healed. Thank you for taking our place on the cross and revealing your love through your suffering. We are still broken in many ways, please continue to heal us, heal the nation and heal your people. Amen
