Jesus’ Heart – Spirit of Truth (John 16:12-15 Devotional)

12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
John 16:12-15

Who is the Spirit?

1. The Holy Spirit guides us into all the truth. These are truths that we used to reject before we accepted Christ, we are unable to understand with our human mind and so amazing that only the Spirit of God can usher us in.

2. The Holy Spirit impresses God’s word into our hearts. I used to think the Bible is evil and would bring demons to me (bad influence by TVB). An interesting thing happened after believing in Christ, I like reading the Bible and started to make sense of it. I read it every day and do my best to live out what I understand.

3. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus. The Holy Spirit came on behalf of Jesus. He relays the message to us and reveals the beauty of Christ in our hearts. He doesn’t take the glory but gives it to Jesus. We exalt Jesus’ name by the power of the Holy Spirit.

4. Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, Jesus is Emmanuel to us. He’s with us 24/7. We will never be separated from God again.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank you for guiding us into all the truth by Your Spirit. We know that we will always have you in our hearts and you will never leave us. Amen!
