Daily Grace 1/2/23 – The Wild Colorful Mushrooms

Giving thanks for the morning walk with my bestie today and was thrilled to spot these colorful mushrooms! Think of Smurf or Mario Cart!

It’s fantastic thinking that no one planted these mushrooms, but they just showed up overnight after the rain. Their vibrant colors and cute shape are so attractive. Yet the more colorful they appear, the more poisonous they are. So it is important to remember never to eat any wild mushrooms. However, it’s also adorable to appreciate their beauty from afar. It’s great that God put this natural defense mechanism in place to protect these gorgeous mushrooms.

That’s an uplifting thought, for sure! It’s so comforting to know that God is looking out for us and that He has a plan that is full of hope and a bright future. Knowing that He provides for even the smallest of creatures, like the mushrooms, is a reminder that He cares for us in a deeply personal way. We can trust in His love and know that He has our best interests at heart.  He truly knows the plans He has for us!

It’s the new year, and I wanted to restart something that I did ten years ago — keeping a thanksgiving journal to count my blessings daily.  But instead of posting it on Facebook as I did ten years ago, this time is on my blog.  God’s love and grace exist in little things around us, which are only noticeable through a thankful heart. I am looking forward to a year of thankfulness. And may my Daily Grace blog also be a blessing to everyone who reads it and be a source of inspiration and motivation for all of us to be more mindful and thankful for the small blessings we often take for granted.
