12 Then Mordecai returned to the king’s gate. But Haman hurried to his house, mourning and with his head covered. 13 And Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then his wise men and his wife Zeresh said to him, “If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of the Jewish people, you will not overcome him but will surely fall before him.” 14 While they were yet talking with him, the king’s eunuchs arrived and hurried to bring Haman to the feast that Esther had prepared.
Esther 6:12-14 ESV
The Israel nation was in exile. They were scattered like sheep without a shepherd but under the authority of a foreign government and an ignorant king. They could be swept by one simple mindless decree from the king. Haman, the enemy of Israel, was wicked, cunning, prideful, and at the same time foolish. He intended to destroy the nation of Israel, and he almost did it with his evil scheme. But little did Haman know, his end was near! He set himself off for destruction by being the enemy of Israel. Though Israel might have been vulnerable and powerless, the God of Israel is invincible! He is that good shepherd that protects His sheep no matter what happens. No one could snatch His people out of His hands as He had promised!
We also live in a broken world, but we have a great shepherd who loves and protects us. He is powerful and invincible! Though our enemy is evil, deceitful, and prideful like Haman, his end is written, and it is near!
While they were yet talking with him, the king’s eunuchs arrived and hurried to bring Haman to the feast that Esther had prepared.
Esther 6:14
As the king’s messengers arrived and hurried to bring Haman to Queen Esther’s feast, we will soon see the fall of Israel’s great enemy. Dear brothers and sisters, our enemy might constantly prowl around like a roaring lion to devour us. While we need to be alert and watchful, let him be reminded of his end standing by his door! On the cross, Jesus crushed the power of Satan, and He is now “waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet.” (Hebrews 10:13) The enemy will soon be the footstool of our Lord! The work is finished by Jesus, and the end is written, and it is near! Our risen Savior had proclaimed victory over the enemy, and His power of resurrection is with us. We shall see the fall of our great enemy when our risen King comes again.
Our risen King is near! And He is powerful! If He can defeat our greatest enemy, what can we not overcome through Him?

My God is powerful, He stands invinsible
I will hold on to Him, I will hold on to Him
Through God I will overcome
He’s the rock that will never move
I will hold on to Him
I will hold on to Him
His power moves the earth and sky
Takes me to the highest heights
My God is powerful
His power will forgive and heal
Crushes darkness, Drives our fear
My God is powerful
My God is powerful
He stands invinsible
I will hold on to Him
I will hold on to Him
Through God I will overcome
He’s the rock that will never move
I will hold on to Him
I will hold on to Him
