16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. 17 All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death. 18 We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him. 19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. 20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
1 John 5: 16-21
There is no “sin that leads to death” in Christ, no weakness or failure that can separate us from the love of God! God has given us life, and no one can take it away. When we pray for the brother who is committing a sin, we also forgive and accept the brother’s failure from our hearts, and encourage him to return to God and the church! God will give him life, and he can abide in the Lord and enjoy eternal life again!
An unrepentant sinner whose sin separates him from God. Even if we pray for his sin, we cannot bring him back to God. We should not pray for his sin, but for his heart! Ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten him to repent and turn around!
Verses 18-22 say that we “know” three times. Brothers and sisters, do you know your identity? Do you know what the Son of God has done to you? Today we have passed from death to life and belong to God! Christians may commit sin and fail at times, but we are of God and we have received eternal life from the Lord! Therefore, we must pay attention to getting rid of sin, let go of dishonorable things, and choose the good portion before the Lord! Abide in the Lord who gives us the deepest affection, fellowship union, and eternal life!

Glorious (By Sermon Law)
Glorious, glorious – The hour I first believed.
I have been joined to the Lord, In one spirit.
Wonderful! Wonderful! Now I am in Christ.
It’s no longer I who live, But a new man.
The precious Lord lives in me. Co-heir with Him of all things,
I partake His glory, Father’s love and the Spirit.
Love that’s true, love that’s true, What a love it is!
I want You to be my Lord, Live in love with You eternally.
