21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. 22 Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. 24 Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. 25 When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he fathered Lamech. 26 Methuselah lived after he fathered Lamech 782 years and had other sons and daughters. 27 Thus all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died. 28 When Lamech had lived 182 years, he fathered a son 29 and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground that the Lord has cursed, this one shall bring us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.” 30 Lamech lived after he fathered Noah 595 years and had other sons and daughters. 31 Thus all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died. 32 After Noah was 500 years old, Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Why did Enoch walk with God after he fathered Methuselah?
What was so special about Methuselah’s life?
If you carefully calculate their ages when they fathered their sons, Methuselah was 187 years old + Lamech was 182 years old + Noah was 600 years old when the flood came, the total is 969! This is the age of Methuselah’s life! At the year Methuselah died, the flood came!
The name Methu means death and selah means emission. God revealed to Enoch that He would judge the world. When Methuselah died, the flood would be emitted! God’s judgment was coming to the whole earth! Methuselah was the oldest living person ever! It also testified how long God’s tolerance was on the people!
When Enoch understood God’s will, he feared God! He didn’t do any great constructions for himself on earth, but he chose to walk with God for 300 years! Every day he was on earth as he was in heaven with God.
With all world events, do you see that Judgement Day is ahead? Enoch made his choice, what about you? Do we have the same reverence for God as Enoch? Choose to walk with God, make God the center of our lives, and always consider His will!
Enoch also had other sons and daughters to establish godly offspring for God! Have you raised spiritual children for God? If you have children at home, do not underestimate your work! Enoch also fathered God’s sons and daughters in his life while walking with God. This is great spiritual work! A service full of love and faith!
